Overview
The Linear tab provides insights about audience engagement across different linear networks, programs and genres.
It summarizes this information in three sections. Learn about how to interpret each section below:
By default, the tables and charts display data for the target audience. Select the Compare Audiences toggle to display the data for both the target audience and comparison audience.
Network
- Top Linear Networks by Reach chart: This chart provides insight into the Top 10 linear networks that the audience watched during the study period selected. % of the audience reached across different linear networks indicates the percent of audiences who watched linear network content during the study period. For example, if NBC has a % of audience reached value of 25%, it indicates 25 percent of the audience watched NBC during the study period.
- Top Linear Networks by Time Spent chart: This chart provides insight into the Top 10 linear networks where the audience spent time during the study period selected. Avg Mins Spent per TV Day by network indicates the average time the audience watched linear network content in a day during the study period. For example, if NBC has an average time spent per day (min) of 20 minutes, among all TVs in the audience who watched NBC in the study period, the average time spent per day is 20 minutes.
- Top Linear Networks by Reach Index chart: This chart provides insight into the Top 10 linear networks reached by the audience compared to the Samsung Universe audience during the study period selected. The reach index by the network is the statistical average of the network audience reach compared with the Samsung Universe audience. The reach index for the Samsung Universe audience is benchmarked as 100. For example, if the National Broadcasting Cooperation (NBC) has an Index of 150, this means that the TVs in the audience who watched NBC is 50 percent more than all the TVs in the Samsung Universe who watched NBC during the study period.
- Top Linear Networks by Time Spent Index chart: This chart provides insight into the Top 10 Linear networks where the audience spent time using the Time Spent Index value . The Time Spent Index by network value is the statistical average of the audience network time spent per TV per day compared with the Samsung Universe audience. The time spent index for the Samsung Universe audience is benchmarked as 100. For example, if the National Broadcasting Cooperation (NBC) has a Time Spent Index value of 150, the average time spent per TV per day value of the audience's NBC exposed TVs is 50 percent more than the time spent per TV per day by NBC exposed TVs in the Samsung Universe audience during the study period.
Top Linear Network Insights table: This table provides insight about the audience's linear networks engagement across different metrics. Only linear networks with greater than 1 percent of audience reached are in the table. The metrics are:

- Top Linear Programs by Reach chart: This chart provides insight into the Top 10 linear programs (for example, NFL Football and Friends) the audience watched during the study period selected. Linear programs are aggregated into series. For example, all NFL games are aggregated to series NFL football across networks. The % of audience reached across different linear programs indicates the percent of audiences who watched linear programs during the study period. For example, if NFL Football has % of reach of 25, it indicates 25 percent of the audience watched NFL Football during the study period.
- Top Linear Programs by Time Spent chart: This chart provides insight into the Top 10 Linear programs (for example, NFL Football and Friends) the audience spent time with during the study period selected. Linear programs are aggregated into a series. For example, all NFL games are aggregated into an NFL football series across networks. Avg Time Spent per Day (in minutes) indicates the average time the audience watched linear programs in a day during the study period. For example, if NFL Football has an Average Time Spent per Day value as 20 minutes among all TVs in the audience who watched NFL Football in the study period, the average time spent per day for NFL Football is 20 minutes.

Linear genres are based on linear programs the audience watches. The % of audience reached across different linear genres indicates the percentage of audiences who watched genre during the study period. For example, if the Comedy genre has % of reach is 25%, it indicates 25% of the audiences watched linear programs whose genre is comedy during the study period.
- Top Linear Genres by Time Spent chart: This chart provides insight into time spent by the Top 10 Linear genres that the audience watched during the study period selected. Linear genres are based on linear programs the audience watched. Avg Mins Spent per TV per Day (in minutes) by linear genre indicates the average time the audience watched a specific linear genre in a day during the study period. For example, if the Comedy genre has an Avg Mins Spent per TV per Day (in minutes) for the comedy genre as 20, the average time spent per day is 20 minutes.
