- Open Microsoft Excel
- Click on File
- Click on Open

Windows 10
- In order to open your CSV or TSV file using the Excel application, right-click on your TSV or CSV file. Select Open with. If you see Excel in the Open with menu, and you do not wish to make it the default application to open CVS or TSV files, you may select it now. Otherwise, click on Choose another app and follow to the next step.
- Select Excel. If you do not see the Excel Application in the list, click on More apps and follow Steps 3 and 4. If you would like your device to remember this association and always choose Excel to open TSV or CSV files automatically, check Always use this app to open .tsv (or .csv) files. Click on OK.
- If Excel is not in the app list, scroll down and click on Look for another app on this PC.
- Select the drive where Windows is installed (C: by default). Search for excel.exe. Select EXCEL. Click on Open.
- If your file is not showing the data in column, see Convert a .csv or .tsv file to columns in Microsoft Excel.
MacOS
- In order to open your CSV or TSV file using the Excel application, right-click on the file (or hold down the control key and click on the file).
- Then, click on Open With and select Microsoft Excel.
Windows 7
- In order to open your CSV or TSV file using the Excel application, right-click on your TSV or CVS file. Select Open with. If you see Excel in the Open with menu, and you do not wish to make it the default application to open CVS or TSV files, you may select it now. Otherwise, click on Choose default program...
- If you see the Excel Application in the list, select it and skip to Step 4. Otherwise, click on Browse...
- Select the drive where Windows is installed (C: by default). Search for excel.exe. Select EXCEL. Click on Open.
- If you would like your device to remember this association and always choose Excel to open TSV or CSV files automatically, check Always use the selected program to open this kind of file. Click on OK.
