The Buyer Manager role enables Samsung DSP users to perform administrative tasks such as the direct management of users under their buyer account without relying on their account manager at Samsung Ads.

Accessing the role

In order to get access to the role, contact your account manager at Samsung Ads. Once this is done, you can access the role as follows:

  1. On the left menu, click on the Account icon, and select Change Account.
  2. On the Change Account page, in the first drop-down list, select Buyer Manager for the role.
  3. Select the buyer account you wish to use from the Account drop-down list.

You will then be taken to the Users screen.

Users screen

You will see the following items on the User screen:

[1]+New User button:Clicking the button takes you to the New User page.

[2]State Dropdown: Filter the user listings based on their status (Any, Active, Archived)

[3] Columns: Include/Exclude the following columns from the users listings:

  • Username
  • Email

Role Types

[4] Filter/Search bar: This filter is applied to the listings by name or username/email.

[5] CSV download: This option downloads a CSV file with ID, name, username, and email of the current user listing.

User listings

[6] ID: ID assigned by Samsung DSP.

[7] Name: User’s name.

[8] Username: Username to log in to the platform.

[9] Email: User’s email.

[10] Role Types: Collection of user roles associated to the user. The supported roles are:

  • Buyer
  • Buyer Manager

[11] Actions: (Action button) This option enables editing or archiving/restoring users from the listing. For active listings, the archive option is available and for the archived listings, the restore option will be available.

[12] Previous/Next Page: If there are more records than can be displayed on a single page (as per records per page setting [13]) , the option to scroll between the previous and next pages will be available.

[13] Records per page: Available options are 10, 25, 50 (default), 100 records per page.

Managing Users

Creating a New User

The +New User button is found at the top right of the screen.

  1. Click the +New User button at the top right of the Users screen.
  2. You will then be taken to the New User screen:

General Settings

  1. Username: Enter the username.
  2. Name: Enter the user’s name.
  3. Email: Enter the user’s email.
  4. Time zone: Select the user’s time zone.
  5. Password: Enter the user’s password. Passwords must be a minimum of 6 characters.

Assigning/Removing Role(s)

Under the Role(s) section, there are three tabs:

  • Buyer: This role provides full access to the selected buyer account (campaigns, flights, etc.).
  • Planner: This role provides access only to the audience builder section of the selected buyer account.
  • Buyer Manager: This role can assign/remove buyer and buyer manager roles to users, both existing or new users.

When either of the above-mentioned tabs is selected, a listing of the available accounts to assign the user to will be listed.

  • Select the checkmark next to the account you wish to assign the user to.

A green check mark icon indicates that the user is assigned to the account, while a grey check mark indicates that the user is not assigned to it.

Updating an Existing User

  1. From the users screen, click the action button on the user listing you wish to update and then select the Edit option

    OR
    Click on the Name of the user from the user listings.
  2. On the user screen, modify any of the fields you wish to change under either General Settings or Roles.
  3. Save updates by clicking the Update User button.

Archiving/Restoring a user

Archiving a user will revoke their access to the platform. However, all analytics/data related to their account will remain in the database. This action can be undone by restoring the account.

To archive a user, this can be done from the Users page by clicking the action button on the respective user listing and then selecting the Archive option:

From the user details page (by clicking the user’s name on the user listing).

For archived users, a Restore option will be available instead of Archive.
