Article summary

With Audience Segment Batch Actions, it is no longer necessary to manually edit each segment and update variables individually. The batch edit options update the study period or viewership threshold information in audience segments collectively.

  • Select an audience from the list provided on the Audience page.
  • Select two or more audience segments. Or, select the checkbox next to Batch Action to select all.
  • Select Edit Viewership Threshold or Modify Study Period.
  • Viewership Threshold: The minimum amount of time a viewer should watch the content for the metrics to be considered. Samsung DSP will identify and account for TVs that have consumed content per viewing session (i.e., the time the TV is on) and not over the total duration set by the Study Period. This drop-down list includes values ranging from 1 minute to 60 minutes. Select this option to update the viewership threshold from the previous value to a new value.
  • Click Update.

Segments without a viewership threshold will be marketed as Incompatible.

Modify Study Period Static: Select this option to update the study period for your selected segments. The configured segment will use a static time period provided to build the audience.

  • Click Update.
  • Rolling Window: The Rolling window enables the creation of audiences based on a continuously refreshed dataset with respect to the current date, e.g., last 7 days, last 30 days, etc. The rolling window period can be up to a year, defined either in days (1-365) or weeks (1-52), and requires an end date. For the end date, any day between the current date and up to a year ahead may be selected. When selecting Rolling Window, the configured segment will refresh daily until today's date equals the specified 'until' date.

Copy Segments

The copy batch action feature can be applied to both new and existing audiences.

  • To copy segments from one audience to a new audience, select two or more segments from and existing audience.
  • Select Copy to a New Audience, under the Batch Action drop-down menu.

DSP opens a pop-up window containing the segments you identified for copy, and prompts you to enter a name for your new audience.

  • Enter an audience name and click Create New Audience.
  • To copy segments from one audience to another existing audience, open the audience containing the segments you want to copy.
  • Select Copy to Existing Audience.
  • From the pop-up window, select the existing audience you would like to copy the segments to.
  • Click Copy Segment.
