Note the following aspects of Website Conversion Smart Audience:

  • Website Conversion Smart Audiences are refreshed daily for audiences applied on active campaigns. With each refresh, the feature learns more about the audience as the campaign is running.
  • For best performance ensure your campaign meets the following commitments
    • A minimum flight length of 2 weeks. Samsung Ads recommends 1 month.
    • A minimum impression count of 100,000 for the Smart Audience line item
  • Business rules restrict one client to use another client’s Conversion Group and website pixels for Smart Audience creation and competitive conquesting.
  • After creating a Smart Audience, you cannot edit it. If you need to change settings for an audience, create a new audience.
  • Smart Audience duplication is currently not available.

Create a Website Conversion Smart Audience

To create a Website Conversion Smart Audience, complete the following steps

Start Smart Audience creation

  1. Select Audience and click New Audience.

  2. Click New Smart Audience.

  3. Click in the Optimized for field to expand the list and click Website Conversion. The Smart Audience configuration window displays.

The Country field defaults to the United States.

  1. Type a string in the Audience Name field to identify the new Smart Audience you are creating. Use the following convention for an audience name.

Smart - Website - [Propensity Setting: >0.9/>0.8/>0.7/>0.6] - [Client Name] - [Website Pixel Name]

An example of an audience name using this convention would be:

Smart - Website - >0.8 - Sports Clips - Confirmation Page

Select a Conversion Group

Creating a Smart Audience requires you to select a Conversion Group for audience targeting.

See Conversion Group for more details on Conversion Groups.

Before selecting a Conversion Group, ensure at least one Conversion Group exists; if not, create one.

Conversion Groups for Smart Audiences have the following requirements:

  • Ensure at least one pixel that has been present for at least two weeks has been placed on the web site.
  • Only one Conversion Group can be selected.

To select a Conversion Group for a Smart Audience, perform the following steps:

  1. Under the Conversion Group area, click Add. The Select Your Conversion Group list displays.

  2. Identify the Conversion Group you want to select, either manually or by typing a Conversion Group name in the search field. You can also search by advertiser.

  3. Click in the circle to the left of the Conversion Group you want to select.

  4. Click Add Conversion Group. The Smart Audience window displays again with the selected Conversion Group appearing with a checkmark to the left of it under the Conversion Group region.

  5. If multiple pixels exist within the Conversion Group, you can remove the ones you don’t want by clicking on the Conversion Group to display the multiple pixels and then clicking on the ones (to remove the checkmark) you want to remove.

Select a Propensity value

Propensity determines the likelihood of a targeted audience to perform an action. The higher the value, the more inclined the audience is to act. The lower the value, the broader the potential audience (the reach) is, although the audience is less likely to perform an action. Samsung Ads uses the power of machine learning and modeling to establish meaningful propensity values.

You can select one of four propensity settings:

  • Propensity >0.9: Highly specific audience size with the highest likelihood to act.
  • Propensity >0.8: Specific audience with a high likelihood to act.
  • Propensity >0.7: Broad audience with a moderate likelihood to act.
  • Propensity >0.6: Broadest audience size with a slightly lower likelihood to act.

Once the Conversion Group and website pixels are selected you will instantly see the estimated Smart Audience size for all 4 settings.

Final tasks

  1. Optionally, type a comment in the Comment field.
  2. Once you have completed filling in the fields in the Smart Audience window, click Create Audience. A message box appears indicating the new Website Conversion Smart Audience you created is being processed and will be available within four hours.

The new Website Conversion Smart Audience might not be processed for several hours. Smart Audience processing may take up to 4 hours.
