Article summary

Samsung DSP consists of connecting Buyers and Sellers.

On one hand, Buyers, i.e., advertisers, are looking for advertising space to broadcast their ad.

On the other hand, Sellers, i.e., publishers, are selling those spaces to generate revenue.

This document describes how to create a seller so that buyers can bid on their inventory for targeting.

Samsung DSP classifies sellers into 2 categories: AdGear and Non-AdGear. See the following links to create the seller based on the exchange you plan to use:

Create a Seller for AdGear Exchange

This procedure is intended for Admin users only.

  1. Log in to Samsung DSP.
  2. In the left pane, click on Admin Tools and select Sellers.
  3. In the upper-right hand corner, click on +New Seller.

  4. Enter the name of the seller (i.e., publisher).
  5. Click on Select File to browse to the location where the logo is stored.
  6. In the Exchange drop-down list, select AdGear. The following options become available:
    image.png
    1. First Price: By default, all auctions are resolved as second-price auctions on AdGearX. However, it is possible to enable first-price for private marketplaces. This option has a direct impact on the stability of the private marketplace. This option is locked after the seller has been created.
    2. Enable Blacklist Filters: All incoming traffic is filtered against global IP and URL blacklists by default. However, the option allows you to bypass this filter for private marketplaces where fraudulent traffic isn't an issue. Disabling this filter may reduce the quality of incoming traffic from this seller on AdGearX.
    3. Data Providers Pixels: By default, third party cookie-matching pixels (e.g., Lotame) are piggybacked with every impression. Disabling this option will remove such pixels, at the cost of reduced cookie-matching for buyers leveraging these third-parties on the seller's inventory.

AdGear Exchange Settings

  • Currency: Select the currency to be used for the auctions.
  • Request CPM: Enter the recommended CPM or Floor price for this seller.
  • Media Percent: Set the percentage of the revenue to deduct as Media fees.
  • Media CPM: Set the amount that should be deducted as Media Fees for 1000 impressions.

Demand Access for AdGear Exchange

  1. Tick the checkboxes of the ad exchanges that are eligible to receive traffic (i.e., bid requests) from this seller. By default, both AdGear and Casale will be ticked. You can untick Casale as our partnership with them is now limited to the demand side (access to their inventory via open market or direct deals).
  2. Set a whitelist or blacklist of the markets you authorize this seller to sell its inventory by clicking on Edit.
    image.png
    1. Tick the checkbox(es) of the market(s) you want to include in the list. You can use the search bar to filter the list.
    2. Click on Close to validate.

Selecting the markets will automatically populate the list of available buyers. The selected buyers will be able to see this seller in the Flight Marketplace tab for targeting.

Interface Settings

  • Auto-activate sites without Admin audit: Tick this checkbox if you want to bypass an admin’s approval to enable sites where this publisher can onboard its inventory.
  • Auto-activate apps without Admin audit: Tick this checkbox if you want to bypass an admin’s approval to enable applications where this publisher can onboard its inventory.
  • In the lower-right hand corner, click on Create Seller to complete the creation of the seller.

Create a Seller for Non-AdGear Exchange

This procedure is intended for Admin users only.

  1. Log in to Samsung DSP.
  2. In the left pane, click on Admin Tools and select Sellers.
  3. In the upper-right hand corner, click on +New Seller.
    image.png
  4. Enter the name of the seller (i.e., publisher).
  5. Click on Select File to browse to the location where the logo is stored.

Exchanges other than AdGear (e.g., FreeWheel, BidSwitch, The MediaGrid, Spot X / Magnite) accept only publishers that they have authorized to display their ad on their inventory. In order to differentiate them from other sellers, they are provided an External Seller ID for authentication.

  1. In the Exchange drop-down list, select the ad exchange on which this seller can sell its inventory.
  2. In the Exchange Seller ID field, enter the ID associated with this seller. You can find the Seller ID and other details such as name, domain, seller type in a JSON file published by the exchange. For example, if you plan to bid for a publisher inventory on AppNexus exchange, you should retrieve its seller ID from https://acdn.adnxs.com/sellers/1d/appnexus/sellers.json.

Demand Access for non-AdGear Exchange

  1. Set a whitelist or blacklist of the markets you authorize this seller to sell its inventory by clicking on Edit.

  1. In the lower-right hand corner, click on Create Seller to complete the creation of the seller.
