Language is a segment targeting feature that provides a list of languages based on the primary language of linear TV channels captured by Samsung TVs.
Viewership threshold filtering is used to collect the time TV users spend on channels associated with a given language.

Create a Language Segment
- Select Language from the Samsung TV panel.
- Define a time period.
- Study Period: Samsung DSP enables you to build audiences based on a static study period, with pre-defined date ranges (7 days, 30 days, 90 days) or custom ranges. Enter the date range for the study period and click on Apply.

- Rolling Window: The Rolling window enables the creation of audiences based on a continuously refreshed dataset with respect to the current date, e.g., last 7 days, last 30 days, etc. The rolling window period can be up to a year, defined either in days (1-365) or weeks (1-52), and requires an end date. For the end date, any day between the current date and up to a year ahead may be selected.
- Viewership threshold: The minimum amount of time a viewer should watch the content for the metrics to be considered.
Samsung DSP will identify and account for TVs that have consumed content per viewing session (i.e., the time the TV is on) and not over the total duration set by the Study Period. This drop-down list includes values ranging from 1 minute to 60 minutes.
- Select one or more languages from the drop-down Language menu. Languages 16-month time period.
Language availability is dependent on ACR coverage for each country.
- Click Add Segments.
Use Cases
- Tracking how long users spend on a particular channel in a certain language as the indicator of how much they're interested in a particular channel language.
