Article summary

An advertiser is a company or individual who showcases their product by purchasing publisher's advertising space. The primary goal of this marketing is to achieve a return on investment (ROI) from the target audience while increasing brand awareness.

By using Samsung DSP, advertisers can take advantage of advanced targeting options and real-time bidding to reach their desired audience effectively.

Setting up the Advertiser section is crucial as it encompasses many features for billing purposes. Additionally, it ensures that creatives or conversions are not associated incorrectly.

  1. Name: Enter the name of the advertiser that will be associated with the campaigns you plan to create.
  2. Default Margin: This is inherited from the buyer by default but can be specified as CPA, CPC, CPCA, CPM, Fixed.
  3. Political Advertiser: Select this option to indicate whether the advertiser intends to broadcast politically-oriented ads. When this option is enabled, the Industries field will be grayed out, with Politics automatically selected.
  4. Country (available when Political Advertiser is enabled): Select the country where this advertiser is located. If you select United States, please fill out the Additional Information For Political Advertiser section to provide the necessary information about this advertiser. See the Additional Information For Political Advertiser section for more information.
  5. Industries: Use the drop-down list to choose the appropriate category that best represents the advertiser.

If you opt for the Political Advertiser option for the United States, there are certain considerations to keep in mind:

  • The flights associated with campaigns from this advertiser will have restricted targeting. Samsung DSP will automatically exclude Washington and Virginia states in the Geography section of the Flight Targeting tab.
  • You have the possibility to include or exclude Congressional Districts in the Geography section. Congressional districts are electoral divisions for the purpose of electing members of the US House of Representatives. See Flight Targeting for more information.
  • Samsung DSP stores the creatives for 1 year for audit and compliance purpose.

The following option is not supported yet in every region.

For now, only the following locations have access: IN, AU, USA, CA, BR, and MX.

  1. Linear TV Ads Reach: Ticking this option increases your campaign’s unique reach by taking into account the exposures from Linear TV ads. Note that this does not affect your frequency cap unless you tick the Linear TV ads option in the Advertiser Frequency section.

The following option is not supported yet in every region.

For now, only the following locations have access: IN, AU, USA, CA, BR, and MX.

  1. Linear TV Ads optional: Increase your campaign frequency count with linear ad exposures. The linear TV ads exposures that will increment the frequency count are the same as those selected in the Linear TV ads reach section.
