Samsung DSP enables its users to onboard their proprietary 1st party data to facilitate re-targeting and cross-selling to their existing audiences.
This can include data from a variety of sources, such as data from the seller’s proprietary mobile applications (or data on any platform), online marketplaces or website.
Feature Availability
Some features are not supported yet in every region. Use this table to see if you have access to this feature based on your location.
Region | Country |
---|---|
North America | USA, CA |
Supported 1P data
Common types of 1P data that can be onboarded are shown in the table below:
Data | Onboarding Mechanism |
---|---|
Mobile Ad IDs - Apple IDFA - Google AAID of devices from Samsung Household and Samsung Universe. | Requires onboarding via DMP; no support for direct onboarding to the Samsung DSP platform. |
IPs - related to a Samsung TV, linking additional devices to the Samsung Household. | Supports onboarding directly to Samsung DSP or optionally via DMP. |
Cookies - List of IDs for the tracking and targeting cookies. | Requires onboarding via DMP; no support for direct onboarding to Samsung DSP. |
TIFA - (Tizen ID for Advertising) - Unique identifiers for the Samsung TV units. | This data is directly onboarded onto the Samsung DSP platform. |
Onboarding Mobile Ad IDs and Cookies to Samsung DSP will require the data to be onboarded to a third party data management platform (DMP). IP data and PSIDs (Samsung TV IDs) can be directly onboarded to the Samsung DSP platform. IP data can optionally be onboarded via a third party DMP as well.
Note: If your data (Mobile IDs, Cookies and optionally IP data) has not been onboarded to a third party DMP, you may also onboard the data onto Samsung’s internal DMP. If you wish to do so, you will need to contact your account manager at [businessname].ads@samsung.com to request onboarding of your first party data.
Onboarding first-party data via third-party DMP
- From Flight Targeting select the DMP where the data has been onboarded. The available DMPs appear under the Audience menu:
- Select the DMP from where you want to onboard your data. Available 1st party data will be displayed within the 1st party tab:
Direct upload of IP lists data to Samsung DSP
Uploading the data
- From the navigation bar, select the Data option to expand the Data menu. Select IP lists from the expanded menu.
- Click the +New IP List button to create a new IP list.
- This takes you to the New IP List screen:
- Name: Enter a name for your IP list.
- IP List CSV: Drag your CSV file or browse your machine to upload it. The CSV file must meet the following requirements:
- There must be no header row
- The contents must conform to one of the following:
- IP addresses (one per row), example: 10.1.89.143
- IP ranges (comma separated, one range per row), example: 10.1.89.143, 21.14.156.189
- CIDR net masks (one per row, masks 8 to 32 are supported), example: 10.1.89.0 / 24
- A single CSV file cannot contain both IP ranges and CIDR netmasks;
Accessing the Uploaded IP List
Once the CSV file has been uploaded to Samsung DSP, you can then use the list for targeting in the Targeting tab:
Once the file is uploaded, you will see the name for the list you specified in step 3 of the upload process under the NAME column. The IP COUNT column will specify how many IP addresses are in the CSV file. You can now specify whether this is an allow list or a block list of IPs.
